It was directed by Academy Award winner Chloé Zhao, in addition to having a well-known cast. The story further explored the cosmic narrative of the MCU by expanding the lore of the Celestials and their role in the creation of the cosmos. It also delved into more serious and darker narratives, showing a new side of Marvel movies. It is for this reason that the MCU should take the movie as an example for its future productions. It would benefit by aiming to match the storytelling aspect, mature tone, and quality that Eternals had instead of pursuing to create more humor-focused movies, like Thor: Love and Thunder, that make a parody of certain characters.

Part of the winning formula was Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman, who was much more than just the cat's meow.

When it comes to the supernatural, there's a reason why when there's something strange in a neighborhood, people call the Ghostbusters. The movie's latest trailer includes a few more references, such as a new rendition of "The Hanging Tree" by Rachel Zegler, but there's also a more subtle callback involving the main protagonist, future president Coriolanus Snow.

Scott Snyder's The Gates of Gotham deals with very similar themes surrounding the history of Gotham and its hierarchy that dates back to the early days of the city. However, this might not be the best for Deadpool 3. Not only would this take away from Hugh Jackman’s return as the character, which should be the main focus, but it would also take away a prime candidate to play the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s real Wolverine when the time comes. It also could face the same consequences that plagued Krasinski's performance as Mr. Fantastic -- rushed and only used for fan service.

However, the fact that these directors' understanding of samurai philosophy, or Bushido, can be traced back to one writer -- Inazo Nitobe -- and his 1899 book, Bushido: The Soul of Japan, is often overlooked and needs to be recognized. Bushido, at least through Nitobe's interpretation, can be broken down into seven main facets, and the tenets of the Jedi Code mirror their teachings.

It's a model working for Lucasfilm, yet there's still more potential. 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of The Clone Wars, starting with Genndy Tartakovsky's micro-series. That makes it all the more fitting that Ahsoka's fifth episode went one step further than past projects by bringing The Clone Wars animated series to life with Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker and a young Ahsoka Tano, played by Barbie star Ariana Greenblatt. For the first time, audiences saw Anakin interact with Ahsoka in live-action, which was exclusive to animation for over a decade.

<![CDATA[In Defense of Finn’s Arc in Star Wars: The Last Jedi]]> In the years since the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson's film has been debated to no end. Many viewers especially took issue with the arc that John Boyega's character Finn was given, including Boyega himself. Some of the more recurring complaints claim that Finn's role in the overall narrative was pointless and that his arc was a dead end. However, to make such a claim would mean to disregard the character development Finn's journey in The Last Jedi was ultimately designed for.

<![CDATA[My Adventures With Superman Exposed Jor-El's Flaws in Man of Steel]]> Jor-El had questionable beliefs in Man of Steel, and My Adventures with Superman highlighted how flawed the character was. The DC Extended Universe's version of Jor-El was a significant aspect of Clark Kent's transformation into Superman. However, this Jor-El had an unjustifiably biased view of his son's new home planet.

<![CDATA[The Exorcist: Believer Has a Sadistic Key to Breaking Its Heroes]]> A major draw in the horror genre has been the revival of demonic possession movies. 2023 had Evil Dead Rise in theaters, as well as The Pope's Exorcist. They continue to produce a ton of jump scares and the trend of kids being taken over by demons. More importantly, they elevate the quality, which dipped in recent years.

<![CDATA[How Does The Nun 2 Connect to The Conjuring?]]> When The Nun wrapped, many fans thought the story with Valak was over. It showed how Valak possessed Frenchie and ended up marking Lorraine Warren to kickstart the first Conjuring movie years later. Interestingly, The Nun II is expanding on Frenchie's possession and what Valak truly craves.

<![CDATA[The LEGO Batman Movie Outdid One of The Flash's Jokes]]> When The Flash brought back Michael Keaton for another turn as the Dark Knight, it made sure to make some jokes in honor of his tenure as the character. And one of its many was a callback to Bruce Wayne's line in Batman (1989) about getting "nuts." Becoming an iconic phrase, many fans were excited to hear Keaton say it again in The Flash's trailers and in the film itself.

<![CDATA[Jeff Nichols’ Aquaman Pitch Was Perfect for the Last DCEU Movie]]> Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to be the last movie set in the DC Extended Universe. The sequel to 2018's Aquaman, the project may also be the final appearance of Jason Momoa's take on the King of Atlantis. The jury is still out on its quality, but a rejected idea for the first movie may have made for a better sequel.

<![CDATA[What happened to Marjorie Dursley in Harry Potter?]]> The Wizarding World of Harry Potter had its fair share of controversial characters. From Dolores Umbridge to Rita Skeeter, author J.K. Rowling created loads of different characters and personalities that stood in the way of the main protagonists in Harry Potter. The Dursley family was part of the long list of controversial Harry Potter characters. Yet, fans were in for quite a surprise when the later movies introduced a Dursley family member who was even nastier than Dudley, Petunia, and Vernon.

<![CDATA[The Past 30 Years of Star Trek Movies Are Missing This Key Ingredient]]> In the 21st Century, Paramount Studios tried to repeat the 20th-century success of its oldest franchise, set in the 23rd and 24th Centuries. On television, or streaming at least, Star Trek is thriving with five series so far and more on the way. (At least once studios offer the WGA and SAG-AFTRA unions a fair deal and end the strikes.) Yet, despite three films that made more than any of the previous movies in box-office receipts, the universe created by Gene Roddenberry is faltering on the big screen. Suppose Paramount is trying to repeat old successes. In that case, it has ignored the key element of connectivity in modern Star Trek movies at a time when audiences are primed for this kind of cinematic storytelling.

<![CDATA[Chucky Is a More Sinister Killer Than Michael Myers]]> When people tune in to see their favorite slasher, it's usually to enjoy the creative kills they dish out to their victims. Or, depending on the character, it might be the quippy one-liner they'll utter before adding another tally to their kill count. But one thing that's never deeply explored is the motivations of these characters and what makes them kill or, more importantly, why they're so evil in the first place. Granted, fans may know the character's backstory and why they do what they do, but there's an inherent level of evil that comes with these faces that many may not consider. For example, Freddy Krueger was evil long before he could enter dreams, while Leatherface was more accurately a victim of circumstance and abuse.

<![CDATA[One of Severus Snape's Most Villainous Acts Was an Accident]]> While Severus Snape (played by Alan Rickman in the movies) ended the series as a hero, he committed several villainous acts throughout the Harry Potter series. For example, Snape was responsible for telling Voldemort about the prophecy that got Harry's parents killed. However, funny enough, one of Snape's most villainous acts was a complete accident. In the Battle of the Seven Potters, Snape accidentally cuts George Weasley's ear while trying to help Harry's convoy (enough said that he wasn't all that successful).
