New York Comic Con will premiere a special episode of My Hero Academia Season 6.

The episode is titled “U.A. Heroes Battle” and will debut at New York Comic Con on October 13th at the Empire Stage. Anyone who has a badge will be able to enter the event. The screening will be a “world preview” for the episode and will debut in the United States before it debuts in Japan. Furthermore, to tie into the plot of the special episode, those who attend the screening will get special trading cards given to them by Crunchyroll. The cards can be used in the My Hero Academia CCG.

My Hero Academia's Special Episode

Those at the show who can’t get into the screening can still get the trading cards at the Crunchyroll booth on the show floor with a purchase. The reason the cards are being given out is because the episode’s plot revolves around a card game introduced by a fan-favorite student. A statement revealed, “The third year, Mirio Togata, pays a visit to the students of Class 1-A, who are bored because they are not allowed to go outside. He brings them a card game called U.A. Heroes Battle that the support course made. This game, where players can use cards of various U.A. students, is tough, just like U.A. itself. Who will win the card battle?!”

Given the competitive nature of those within Class 1-A, especially with characters like Bakugo, one can expect the episode to feature intense card battles and many characters trying to infuse strategies into making the perfect decks. Longtime fans will note that this episode occurs before the significant events of Season 6 via the “War Arc” with the Paranormal Liberation Front and the fallout that transpires due to it.

In Season 6, the Pro Heroes of Japan team up with many students from U.A. to take on Tomura Shigaraki and his army of villains. What starts out as a kind of “rout” turns into a massacre, as many heroes are killed by the villains, especially when Shigaraki gets a special upgrade via new Quirks that make him an almost unstoppable killing machine. By the end of the season, Deku has unlocked most of One For All and can defeat Tomura, but Shigaraki has almost reached his peak in power and thus will be able to take over the world if given the chance. The new season will debut this fall.
