Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has revealed preview images for the anime's ninth episode before it premieres on September 21.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 recently released a few promo images on its official website alongside the upcoming episode 9 synopsis, which reads, "Shibuya station underground platform. Gojo overpowers and corners Jogo, Hanami, and Choso, despite civilians being used as a shield against him. However, Jogo's goal was to buy time and seal Gojo with the prison gate. Mahito also joined the battle, along with a large number of converted humans. The Jogo team tries to cut down Gojo using ordinary people as shields, but Gojo comes up with a secret plan."
Studio MAPAA, who also animated the first season and movie of the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise, has returned for the second season. Crunchyroll is the streaming platform for the franchise, and its story description for Jujutsu Kaisen reads, "Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses, and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back."
Jujutsu Kaisen's main cast has returned for the second season, directed by Shota Goshozono. Ryota Aikei assisted Goshozono in directing. Hiroshi Seko composed the series and wrote the screenplay. The anime series' crew includes music composer Yoshimasa Terui and art director Junichi Higashi. Tadashi Hiramatsu and Sayaka Koiso are in charge of character design.
The first part of Jujutsu Kaisen adapted the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death story arc before moving on to The Shibuya Incident for the second season. The Shibuya Incident is the 6th arc in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Akutami Gege created the original Jujutsu Kaisen manga, which began its run in 2018. VIZ Media acquired the license to produce the manga in English, and the series has gained a worldwide fanbase.
Crunchyroll will release Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Episode 9 on September 21, 2023.
