Marvel has revealed two covers by legendary artist Greg Capullo for upcoming Moon Knight comics ahead of their releases in December and January.

Capullo, who recently returned to Marvel, will have his work appear as variant covers for Moon Knight #30 and Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1, with virgin variants available for both issues. In December's Moon Knight #30, the titular character will meet an untimely end facing off against none other than the Black Spectre before a new Moon Knight rises in January with Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1. Both of Capullo's covers feature his iconic style, showcasing Moon Knight's classic costume for December's issue and a darker, more brutal take on the character in January.

Moon Knight's Radical Transformation

Moon Knight readers are in for a mysterious and dark new era for the character according to Marvel. Writer Jed MacKay and artist Alessandro Cappuccio’s run of the series started in 2021 and concludes with December's Moon Knight #30. The current run has seen the character create the Midnight Mission, establishing his territory and protecting his people as an apostate priest battling villains like Zodiac, while even teaming up with Venom. In the past few issues, Moon Knight has been gearing up for an epic fight against the powerful Black Spectre.

Marvel has shared that Black Spectre will appear to emerge victorious, resulting in the Midnight Mission continuing on in Vengeance of the Moon Knight as a new Moon Knight rises to power. According to MacKay, there is still plenty of action to come from the dark and mysterious transformation the character will face. "We're thrilled to bring the next chapter of this saga to uneasy life as the Midnight Mission reels from a recent loss... and yet, Moon Knight still stalks the nighttime streets?" MacKay said. "Despite the apocalyptic events of MOON KNIGHT #28-30, we have plenty left to tell in the story of the Moon Knight, and I'm excited for readers to join us!"

Moon Knight #30 and Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1 will go on sale from Marvel Comics on Dec. 13 and Jan. 3 respectively.
