A new action figure of Supergirl by McFarlane Toys has already sold out before its October release.

The figure of Kara Zor-El was available for pre-order exclusively on Target's website on September 19. However, according to its page on Target (at the time of writing), "Pre-orders have sold out." Supergirl's new item could get a second wave of pre-orders in the future, but that has not been confirmed at the time of publication. The action figure highlights a mix of looks from Kara's past. She has the classic top and skirt combo that the character has adorned for many decades while also having red boots that go all the way up to her thighs.

Supergirl in Figures and Beyond

The figure is from her "DC Rebirth" era and stands seven inches tall. Also, the Kara figure has "22 moving parts" to let owners position her in various ways. Furthermore, it comes with a collectible card featuring Supergirl. Here is the character's official description from the Target site, "As a child Kara Zor-El witnessed the devastation of Krypton™ before she was sent to Earth on a mission to protect her infant cousin, Kal-El. Arriving on Earth decades too late, she discovered that grown-up Kal has been imprisoned. Still determined to protect her family and its legacy, Kara will fight her cousin's enemies as Supergirl."

While Supergirl as a character has struggled to find her place in the DC Universe comics-wise, she has been shown and adapted in various other media successfully. The best example was the beloved Supergirl TV series on the CW. The show was initially on CBS but eventually transferred over to the CW and officially became a part of the Arrowverse. Kara was played by Melissa Benoist, whom fans and critics adored and praised for her portrayal of the character. The series lasted for six seasons.

As for the movies, there was a Supergirl movie in the past starring Helen Slater, but in more recent times, Supergirl appeared in the DCEU movie The Flash, where Sasha Calle played her. Despite Kara's short time in the film, many enjoyed her take on Supergirl and the new outfit she wore in the movie. James Gunn, the new co-head of the DCU, revealed during his "first wave of movies" announcement that Supergirl will get her own movie that will help differentiate her from Superman.
