In the series debut, Steve Rogers runs into trouble with his apartment building being condemned after the events of Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #8 and takes it upon himself to make renovations. After a quick team-up with The Fantastic Four to take down Psycho Man, a fatigued Captain America tries to thwart a robbery and is almost shot in the back before contractor Seung Kim gets his attention. Afterward, Rogers enlists Kim's help to fix his apartment, with the story frequently panning back to Rogers' childhood as an orphaned teenager showing the reasoning for his motivations in the present. Elsewhere in the world, Lord of Chaos Asmoday inhabits Travis Lane and meets with A.I.M.'s Arianna Walters. The two devise a plot that threatens to control the world for the next thousand years and begin looking for a base of operations.

In these exclusive preview pages from the upcoming Captain America #2, Spider-Man seems to drop in on Rogers, who was unamused by his arrival before reluctantly agreeing to help him foil the Sinister Six. Rogers also appears to be making good progress renovating his apartment, with one page showing him and Kim having a conversation while putting up new tiles and fixtures in a bathroom.

Also revealed in the pages is more information about Rogers' past, which was left as a cliffhanger in the first issue when it was revealed that he was in attendance at a German-American Bund meeting. The American Nazi organization continues its presence in the pages of Captain America #2, with a page showing soldiers marching with American and Nazi flags. Rogers doesn't seem sympathetic to their cause and is seen wearing what may be an orange prison suit. The final preview page shows three villainous men talking, although their exact identities and how they may be connected to Asmoday or Travis Lane and A.I.M.'s present-day plans remain to be seen in the full issue.

Captain America #2 goes on sale Oct. 25 from Marvel Comics.
