Juno Temple is a Midwestern housewife in a sneak peek trailer for Fargo Season 5.

Temple appears as an unassuming homemaker who is speaking to her husband before arming herself with a loaded gun, a taser, and a baseball bat after an unexpected visitor rings her doorbell in the FX series teaser. In Season 5 of Fargo, Mad Men star Jon Hamm takes on the role of Sheriff Roy Tillman, tasked with investigating Dorothy "Dot" Lyon, a seemingly ordinary Midwestern housewife with a criminal past, brought to life by Juno Temple, the breakout star from Ted Lasso.

Jennifer Jason Leigh, known for her role in The Hateful Eight, portrays Dot's mother-in-law Lorraine Lyon, and Joe Keery, famous for his role in Stranger Things, portrays Roy Tillman's son, Gator.The cast also includes David Rysdahl as Dot's devoted husband, Wayne Lyon, Dave Foley as an advisor to Lorraine named Danish Graves, Lamorne Morris as Witt Farr, Richa Moorjani as Minnesota Police Deputy Indira Olmstead, Lukas Gage as Lars Olmstead, Sam Spruell as Ole Munch, and Jessica Pohly and Nick Gomez as Agents Meyer and Joaquin.

Fargo Season 5 official synopsis reveals the plot follows Temple’s Dot, who leads a new life as a low-key Midwestern housewife married to Wayne, portrayed by Rysdahl. However, Dot's dark past is about to catch up to her, and she desperately accepts help from Wayne's condescending but influential debt-collector mother, Lorraine. She is then tasked with escaping the menacing Sheriff Tillman, who is accompanied by his disappointing son, Gator, and a drifter named Ole Munch.

Fargo Moves the Story Forward With Season 5

The upcoming season serves as the most current as it's set in 2019 with the previous season being set in the 1950s. Fargo was created by Noah Hawley and with an anthology format, each season is self-contained with different characters. The show draws inspiration from the 1996 film with the identical title, originally penned and directed by the Coen brothers, and unfolds within the confines of the same fictional universe.

Hawley also serves as an executive producer along with Warren Littlefield, Joel Coen, Ethan Coen, John Cameron, Steve Stark, and Kim Todd The fifth season will feature 10 episodes and is set to air on November 21, 2023, after the Hollywood actors' and writers' ongoing strikes pushed back the premiere date from September. The upcoming season will air on FX and also be available to stream on Hulu.
