Video game developer Electronic Arts confirmed Star Wars Jedi: Survivor ports for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were in early development.

Per IGN, EA revealed plans to bring Jedi: Survivor to last-generation consoles after the sequel found massive commercial success on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. "Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is pure blockbuster entertainment rooted in a timeless culture-defining IP," said CEO Andrew Wilson during EA's Q1 earnings call. "Our team at [Respawn Entertainment] proudly launched this title to critical acclaim and commercial success. Millions of players have already engaged with the game, making this one of the biggest events in the Star Wars galaxy this year. Thanks to the strength of this legendary franchise and community demand, our development team has committed to bringing this Jedi experience to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One."

Fans gave mixed opinions regarding the announcement, with many players expressing their doubts about the title's stability on last-gen consoles given its infamously buggy launch state on modern platforms. Users were especially worried that a last-gen release will be plagued with even more issues than Jedi: Survivor's PC version, which was prone to a litany of graphical and performance problems.

The public backlash regarding the game's poor PC optimization even led EA to release a statement, wherein the company assured players its team was working on delivering a more stable experience. "We are committed to fixing these issues as soon as possible, but each patch requires significant testing to ensure we don't introduce new problems," its message reads. "Thanks for understanding and apologies to any of our players experiencing these issues. We will continue to monitor performance across all platforms and share update timing as soon as it is available."
