Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has gotten a new patch from Respawn Entertainment to fix ongoing performance issues.

The highly-anticipated game, set within the timeline of the original Star Wars trilogy, was released in April and was met with praise. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor aimed to build off of what its predecessor, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, had done, and many felt it did in various ways. However, despite the title's overall quality, many gamers and critics decried its performance issues on both PC and console. Today, a new patch was released to improve "Performance Mode" and ensure stability across PC and console.

The Patch Notes can be seen in full on the EA website. Key among them is the ability on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S to get 60 FPS in "solid" form, so long as you disable the raytracing before doing so. If you go to "Quality Mode," you'll find fewer "FPS fluctuations," and the visuals have also improved. The catch is that the game locks cinematics at 30FPS. PC users can expect "Additional performance & optimization improvements for PC, including DLSS support."

Alongside those improvements come standard bug fixes and tweaks to solve certain other problems and the promise from Respawn Entertainment to keep working on patches until the game is fully fixed. Despite its flaws, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is still hailed as one of the best games of 2023 and a worthy second title in its line, given not only the visuals it brought out but also the plot and gameplay mechanics.

In Jedi: Survivor, Cal Kestis has been fighting the Empire for five years after the events of the first game, where they destroyed the Holocron containing the names of future potential Jedi. However, after a mission ends in disaster, he meets up with his old crew and finds himself on a new journey to find a potentially hidden world that the Empire can't reach. Respawn Entertainment went full-tilt with their improvements to the combat by adding multiple new stances and several new Force abilities to use so players could have Cal evolve the way they wanted to.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is available now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S and is in development for PS4 and Xbox One.
