Despite the increasing controversy surrounding Netflix's The Witcher, the show has already been renewed for Season 4, ensuring the storyline will continue. The negative reviews may intensify when Liam Hemsworth replaces Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming season. However, there are plenty of other interesting characters to keep audiences entertained.

Some of these beloved characters have been highlighted throughout the show, such as the main characters Yennefer and Ciri. However, others received less screen time in Season 3, such as the sorceresses Fringilla and Triss. Some new characters were introduced in Season 3, including strong female characters Milva and Mistle. These The Witcher characters should get more screen time in Season 4, which could aid in the popularity of the controversial fantasy show.

10 Radovid

Radovid The Witcher

At the beginning of Season 3 of The Witcher, Radovid seemed to be a clear villain trying to get his hands on Ciri's powers. However, after he developed feelings for Jaskier, he realized he wanted a life of adventure and to follow his own path. Unfortunately, this ended when Philippa assassinated his king brother and crowned Radovid in his place.

Radovid clearly has no desire to rule Redania, which will likely make him a pawn to Philippa. Though fans are hoping to see more of his and Jaskier's love story, this may be impossible with his new status. The show will hopefully highlight his story in Season 4, focusing on his character and not just Philippa's manipulation.

9 Fringilla

Fringilla in The Witcher Season 3.

Fringilla was a major antagonist in earlier seasons, working with Nilfgaard to gain power and achieve her dream of being the governor of Cintra. In Season 3, she escaped captivity, but eventually made her way back to Cintra and Emperor Emhyr, who gave her the position she craved.

Though her dreams have been fulfilled, Fringilla's character seems to have changed. Her power-hungry demeanor was prominent beforehand, but she showed grief and guilt when revealing to Francesca that she played a part in the assassination of her friend's infant. Fringilla certainly isn't a protagonist quite yet, but her subtle personality change could be major for the upcoming plot.

8 Milva

Milva holding a bow in The Witcher Season 3.

The world of The Witcher is immersive, building on the dynamic of this society by bringing new and interesting characters each season. Milva is a human war refugee that was introduced while Geralt was being treated by the dryads in Season 3, Part 2.

Audiences enjoyed her inclusion, bringing more strong female representation to the fantasy world with her fiery spirit and impressive fighting abilities. In the end, Milva joined Jaskier and Geralt in their journey to find Ciri. This suggests there will be more Milva to come, which is supported by the source material's storyline.

7 Francesca

Francesca, the Elf Queen in the Witcher

Throughout The Witcher series, Francesca has blurred the lines between villain and hero. The prominent feature of her character is, as queen of the dwindling elven people, she wants to protect her remaining citizens over anything else. This desire, however, has also made her an antagonist as she allies with the enemy to hunt down Ciri for her magic.

Francesca was last seen in Cintra, previously making a pact with Emperor Emhyr to provide her people with protection in exchange for her few elven warriors joining the Nilfgaardian army. However, this was before Fringilla revealed to her that Emhyr was responsible for the death of her child. This leaves her upcoming plot wide-open, meaning her storyline should definitely be highlighted in Season 4.

6 Triss

Triss in Season 2 of The Witcher

Triss has been an ally and friend to the heroes since Season 1 of The Witcher. She cares for Ciri and Geralt and has a close friendship with Yennefer. Though her character was highlighted in Seasons 1 and 2, she didn't get as much screen time in Season 3.

Triss is a beloved character because of her kind nature, passion for protecting others, and lovable personality. She was last seen helping Yennefer and the other sorceresses rebuild Aretuza. Since Yennefer will more than likely be a focal point of Season 4, that hopefully means the audience will see more of Triss and the other mages.

5 Istredd

Istredd The Witcher Season 3.

Istredd started out as the love interest to Yennefer in Season 1 before their relationship ended with his betrayal of her trust. However, the two have remained friends, and they aren't the most problematic couple in this Netflix show. As an ally to the heroes, he continues to have relevance in the storyline.

He was last seen being sent through a portal by traitor Vilgefortz with the Book of Monoliths. His next plotline will likely be about Vilgefortz using his skills to translate the powerful book. This could lead to a major conflict for Season 4 and make Istredd's character more important than ever.

4 Mistle

Mistle in The Witcher Season 3.

Ciri was once again separated from her found family in The Witcher Season 3, taking hostage after being captured in the Korath desert. At the conclusion of the season, Mistle and her mysterious band of fighters helped save Ciri along with their captured ally.

Though Mistle was only shown in a couple of brief scenes, audiences are already intrigued by her and her companions. Since Ciri is with them at the end of the season, it's likely she'll be with them at the beginning of Season 4. This is a great opportunity to not only build on Ciri's persona as a powerful female lead but develop these new characters like Mistle.

3 Dara

Dara and Ciri in The Witcher Season 1.

Dara is one of the elven characters that has been in and out of the show since Season 1. He was first seen as a boy, traveling with Ciri after she escaped Cintra. Later on, he is a refugee that Jaskier helps escape to safety before ending up with Francesca's elven encampment.

Dara was last seen in the Dryad refugee camp, confronting Jaskier and Geralt to ask them to tell Ciri he was sorry for not sticking by her in the past. Though he is not highlighted in the show, he's an interesting character that has the potential to shine as another ally.

2 Cahir

Ciri pointing a sword at Cahir in The Witcher Season 3.

In this controversial Netflix show, Cahir was one of the most hated characters in Season 1. He invaded Cintra with his Nilfgaard army, killed the queen, and tried to capture Ciri. In Season 3, Ciri had an opportunity to kill him and get revenge but was shocked to see him relent and reveal he has changed his mindset.

He aided her during the battle at Aretuza, leading Nilfgaardian soldiers away. Now that he's vowed to defend and fight for Ciri, his character is more interesting than ever. The next season will need to highlight why he has had this change of heart and how he intends to make amends for the atrocities he committed that ruined Ciri's childhood.

1 Emhyr

Duny is Emperor Emhyr in The Witcher

Emhyr was introduced in Season 1 of The Witcher as the lovable man that fell in love with Ciri's mother, Pavetta. However, Season 2 revealed that Emhyr is the leader of the Nilfgaardian empire trying to take over the other kingdoms and use Ciri's powers to do so.

Despite Emhyr being the overarching villain in the whole series, his character has had little development throughout the three seasons. After the fake Ciri, Teryn, was introduced by him to his people, the plot is hopefully going to focus on him more in Season 4.
