Blue Beetle is heading to digital in less than a week.

"Own your legacy, own your power, own BLUE BEETLE on Digital 9/26!" reads a post shared on the official X account for the DC Extended Universe movie. Despite box office analysts commending Blue Beetle's box office legs, the latest DCEU installment was still an unfortunate flop for DC Studios, earning just $120 million worldwide at the time of writing. Blue Beetle's arrival on digital comes 39 days after the superhero movie opened in theaters on Aug. 18.

Blue Beetle Beats Shazam! 2 at the Domestic Box Office

While Blue Beetle will likely become the lowest-grossing DCEU entry of 2023, the Xolo Maridueña-starring movie did manage to secure a couple of victories during its theatrical run. Blue Beetle was the most well-received DCEU title released so far this year with a 78 percent Rotten Tomatoes critics' score to The Flash and Shazam! Fury of the Gods' 63 percent and 49 percent, respectively.

Blue Beetle also managed to pass Fury of the Gods in total domestic box office earnings. At the time of writing, Blue Beetle has grossed $67.4 million domestically to Fury of the Gods' $57.6 million. Blue Beetle still has plenty of gas left in the tank too, with the young superhero's solo film eyeing a final domestic box office in the $70–75 million range.

Despite Blue Beetle's low worldwide gross, the character still has a bright future in James Gunn's forthcoming DC Universe. Gunn has already confirmed that Maridueña's Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle will be an "amazing part of the DCU going forward." While it is unknown if Blue Beetle will receive a sequel or simply appear in other character's projects, the movie's director, Ángel Manuel Soto, previously revealed that he has ideas for a sequel, such as sending Jaime to find Ted Kord, the second Blue Beetle, who was teased as being alive in the final moments of Blue Beetle.

In Blue Beetle, "college graduate Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab." The synopsis continues, "When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero BLUE BEETLE."

Blue Beetle is currently playing in theaters and arrives on digital platforms on Sept. 26.
