Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington on Stranger Things, reveals that he has mixed feelings about the show coming to a close.

Keery shared his thoughts with Women's Wear Daily. “It does feel like it’s time. It won’t be easy for it to end," the Stranger Things actor admitted. "I mean, I owe my whole career to being on that show and all the opportunities that I had since are because of that show.”

“So it’s very convoluted. There’s a sense of relief, there’s a sense of sadness," Keery added. "I guess my goal is to just really soak it up as much as I can while we’re doing it, and not take any of it for granted because it’s been an amazing ride with such great people. And then once it’s done, move forward and try to just hold on to the joy that we had when we were making it…. Everything has a beginning and the middle and an end. It’ll be nice to have the end of this too.”

Eleven actress Millie Bobby Brown has also recently opened up about her feelings on Stranger Things finishing up with Season 5. "I think I'm ready," Brown said. "It's been such a huge factor in part of my life but it's like graduating high school, it's like senior year. You're ready to go and blossom and flourish and you're grateful for the time you've had, but it's time to create your own message and live your own life."

Stranger Things' climactic fifth season is set to pick up from season 4, which saw the monstrous Vecna commit a string of horrific murders throughout Hawkins, ruthlessly exploiting the past trauma of his victims. His actions ultimately led to season 4's dramatic ending, which saw the Upside Down dimension seeping into Hawkins. It will be up to the central cast to defeat Vecna once and for all.

Following the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, production on Stranger Things' fifth season has been come to a pause. The Duffer Brothers began work on the Stranger Things Season 5 scripts in August 2022, and filming was originally planned to start in May 2023. Stranger Things star David Harbour addressed the production delays in a recent interview: "It'll take a while to shoot, which will be tough since we can't get started yet, but it is what it is. I'm excited to go back. I'm excited to wrap it up in a bold, amazing way."

Stranger Things Season 5 does not yet have a release date.
