The following contains spoilers for Harley Quinn Season 4, Episode 10, "Killer's Block," now streaming on Max.

As Season 4 of Harley Quinn ends, it's a bittersweet one. Harley has lost her killer's edge, confirming to herself and her peers that she can indeed be a superhero. It goes a long way because everyone doubted her. Thankfully, Poison Ivy and Barbara Gordon are backing her, adamant Harley's meant to shine away from toxic elements such as The Joker and the Legion of Doom.

However, on the flip side, major parts of Earth have been damaged after Harlivy waged war on Lex Luthor's moon base. They tried to hurt the one percent via a giant laser but ended up causing a lot of collateral damage. Still, they decide to step up their hero game, forming a supergroup. In addition to this new future, there are quite a few threads left dangling, teasing what Season 5 could look like in terms of action, romance and drama.

Harley Quinn Season 5 Will Debut the Gotham City Sirens

Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Barbara Gordon and Catwoman form the Gotham City Sirens

In Harley Quinn's Season 4 ending, Catwoman showed up to partner with Barbara (as Oracle), Harley and Ivy. She likes their energy and how they raged against the machine. They vow to clean up a crime their own way as the Gotham City Sirens, but Selina and Ivy still have villainous cuts to them. They love chaos, theft and sticking it to society, so it'll present a challenge. Harley will have to rein them in to ensure they don't lose credibility.

She wants them to keep being inspirations, but Ivy and Catwoman have shown egos in the past -- something that tested Harlivy's romance. Given Ivy and Selina had a fling as well, that love triangle could re-emerge on the job. To top it off, Harley has to ensure Oracle doesn't get corrupted. Barbara is impressionable and wants to cut loose as she feels the Bat-Family stymied her evolution. Thus, Harley will need to create a circle of progress and not one where they're hypocrites. Another problem lies with Harley's old teammates. King Shark is raising his kids and is pretty cool on his own, but Clayface fights Ivy after abandoning him. And even worse than that, Doctor Psycho is bitter about being booted, giving the Sirens familiar faces to tussle with.

Harley Quinn Season 5 Could Create a Deadly Alliance

Harley Quinn Season 4 has a gay Steppenwolf partnering with Ivy

When Harley Quinn introduced Steppenwolf, many assumed he'd partner with Ivy. Instead, he dropped out of the plot after giving her business advice. He did return to kidnap Lex and presumably torture him the same way Lex did Superman, though. However, taking him to Apokolips is something that could drastically backfire. If Lex shares insight and plans on how to invade Earth, Darkseid, the Furies, Kalibak, Steppenwolf and the rest could use their Boom Tubes and Parademon army to break the planet.

Lex does have a way with words, after all, so it's easy to see him brokering a deal. It'd be a powerful test for the Sirens. It could even lead to the Justice League asking Harley to join, given how she saved the Man of Steel on the moon. That said, given Apokolips' firepower, Harley will end up learning about actions and consequences and how toying with Lex rather than arresting him wasn't the smartest move. With Lex also augmenting his body and becoming a superhuman with Kal-El's powers, he could become Darkseid's latest weapon and someone happy to play lapdog until he gets an opportunity to take the cosmic kingdom for himself.

Harley Quinn Season 5 Will Have Bat-Family Drama

Harley Quinn arrested Bruce Wayne in Season 3

Season 4 dealt with the death of Nightwing. Joker claimed to do it, only to be proven innocent. It's why he shot Barbara in a remix of The Killing Joke -- to build up street cred. Sadly, it turns out a sleepwalking Harley murdered Dick Grayson. She's been trying to keep it secret, but once the cat's out of the bag, there'll be chaos. Bruce leaves the prison for the wealthy elite to fix Gotham, as he doesn't approve of Harley's methods.

If he finds out Harley killed Nightwing, he'll be ticked off. Barbara will as well because Harley blamed it on a Harley clone. There'll be a lot of trust issues at play, considering the dominoes tipped over, including Harlivy breaking the moon. Harley will have to tread lightly and eventually let the truth come out if she's to keep showing people she's worth their faith. Bruce might be distracted, though, because Alfred's surely going to leave jail to figure out why he's being neglected by the Bat.

Harley Quinn Season 5 Will Unleash a New Assassin League

Harley Quinn's Talia has lunch with Ivy

Initially, Ivy enjoyed how Talia al Ghul shut the Bat-Family down, but she quickly realized Talia wasn't about feminist empowerment, after all. Talia got angry the laser blew her businesses up, so she resurrected Nightwing using the Lazarus Pit in Harley Quinn Season 4. Talia also reconditioned Damian as a killer, upgrading the League of Assassins.

Their aim is to hunt Harlivy down, teasing conflict with the Caped Crusader. Bruce won't like his sons being used like this, even if he disapproves of Harley. It paves the way for many of Harley Quinn's unanswered questions to get air-time, such as why Bruce left Talia his estate. Either way, fans are going to see how this League lives up to Ra's' legacy.

Harley Quinn Season 5 Can Create a New Joker Gang

Harley Quinn Season 4 has Joker celebrating with Bethany, Benicio and Sophia

Joker decided to return as a villain this season. He missed the death and destruction, but Harley ended up capturing him. Rather than kill Joker, she dropped him off for a retired Jim Gordon to torture. Whether Jim kills him or not, the stage is set for Joker's family to embrace their dark side. Bethany and his adoptive children, Benicio and Sophia, did love the idea of murdering their enemies, indicating the Clown Prince of Crime rubbed off on them.

This is a chance to seek revenge, becoming the antithesis of what the Bat-Family is. They could go after folks who harmed Joker, sowing out injustice and discord while leaving Harley wondering how to take out people whose shoes she walked in. It'd be a tragic test of morals and ethics, pushing Harley to save them. Or, if they kill, Harley's team may be faced with a dilemma involving whether they have to murder them to save Gotham's soul and stop Joker's infection from spreading.

All four seasons of Harley Quinn are available on Max.
