The first poster for the upcoming second season of The Santa Clauses has confirmed that the Disney+ original series will return in November.
The streamer shared that The Santa Clauses Season 2 will debut with a two-episode premiere on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, followed by new episodes weekly. In the series' sophomore season, "the Calvin family is back at the North Pole, as Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) continues his role as Santa Claus after his retirement plans were thwarted when he failed to find a worthy successor in season one," reads the official synopsis. "Now that Scott and his family have successfully saved Christmas, Scott turns his focus towards training his son Cal (Austin Kane) to eventually take over the 'family business' as Santa Claus."
In addition to Allen and Kane, The Santa Clauses Season 2 brings back stars Elizabeth Mitchell as Mrs. Carol Claus, Elizabeth Allen-Dick as Sandra Calvin Claus and Devin Bright as Noel while adding Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias as Kris Kringle and Eric Stonestreet as Magnus Antas/The Mad Santa to the main cast. Matilda Lawler will also reprise her role of Santa’s chief of staff, Betty, as a recurring guest star along with Marta Kessler as Olga, Liam Kyle as Gary, Isabella Bennett as Edie, Sasha Knight as Crouton, Ruby Jay as Riley, Mia Lynn Bangunan as Pontoon and Laura San Giacomo as La Befana, the Christmas Witch.
Season 2 Adds Tracy Morgan as the Easter Bunny
Comedian Tracy Morgan, who is best known for his tenure as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, has also joined the cast of The Santa Clauses Season 2 in the role of the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny was previously portrayed by the late Jay Thomas in The Santa Clause 2 (2002) and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006), appearing as a member of the Council of the Legendary Figures alongside Father Time, Mother Nature, Cupid, Tooth Fairy, Sandman and Santa Claus. No details as to how the Easter Bunny factors into the upcoming season's plot have been disclosed at this time, although the role isn't expected to be larger than a cameo.
Disney+ Releases First Look at Mad Santa
Ahead of the Season 2 premiere, Disney+ released a pair of images of Stonestreet as Magnus Antas, who was Santa during the 14th century. The character has been described by Disney+ as a "rowdy and mercurial foe who often brandishes a cup of mead. Mad Santa is believed to be the main antagonist of Season 2, returning with a dastardly plan of taking down Scott Calvin and reclaiming the North Pole.
